Internot?

Internet- One of the most powerful words of this decade. Why? Social networking, business related material, sports info, blogging, googling, e-mail, games, and dating are all part of this social extravaganza we call the internet. Is internet a good thing or an addiction, or both?

The internet has given me useful information, caused me to keep in contact with friends, and given me the opportunity to get updates on my favorite sports teams. These are all positives, do negatives exist? The answer is yes. See, during this time of constant communication and enjoyment, it has also caused me to lose happiness at times… but why? Because I sometimes forget the reason why I am blessed enough to have internet, and a computer even. I do not read my Bible as much as I should anymore, or do my devotions. Is it the internets fault? Some of it is. Most of it is my fault though for not being as disciplined as I should be. Websites such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, ESPN.com, and even Youtube, have taken so much of my time, that I’m almost always in another world. Being a college student and in my room often, I’m automatically swiped into the bright screen magnet known as a laptop computer. I need to cut way down on my time spent, while still keeping in touch with friends, family, etc.

The point of this blog is to say that more of my time needs to be directed towards studying, focusing on being a blessing to others, working on my basketball talent, and giving Jesus all the glory! He brought me to this university and got me the full ride basketball scholarship that I have. I’m going to cut down on the internet from now on, and give my time where it is due.

Alright, I’m signing off.

lol.
